Hi everyone! It’s been awhile since my last post, but as you can imagine, we have been busy with the new house. We knew it was a bit of a fixer upper, but didn’t quite realize how much really needed to be done, so our days have been consumed with working on plumbing, painting, scraping popcorn ceilings and so on. Our current focus is on finishing our upstairs bathroom (we have been living “rustically” as the girls at work call it, with only a sink and a toilet…no shower). It’s amazing how much you realize you take for granted when you no longer have the simple conveniences of modern days!
My husband and I were able to get away from the renovations for a few days last weekend and went to visit my aunt, uncle and baby cousins in Virginia. It was a much needed getaway and we had a blast with the family just bonding, and of course drinking wine! On our way home to Pennsylvania, Kruz and I stopped in D.C. and had time for a little photoshoot, which was nice because we haven’t in such a long time!
I love this striped mini dress for both sweltering hot summer days, like the day of our photoshoot, or for layering in the fast approaching fall time. I had to pair it with a super soft and chunky sweater to show you guys how cute it is for fall. The mustard yellow and rusty red colors can really transition this dress into fall nicely. I’m also loving chokers and the one I’m wearing above reminds me so much of the stretchy ones I used to get out of vending machines when I was a kid, but with a metallic twist. You all now how nostalgic I am, so it’s no wonder I am hoping right on the 90’s grunge trend wagon.
I have so much more from the weekend to share with you guys, so stay tuned for another post later on in the week.
It’s so good to be back!
